Hurtigruten Cruises

Overview

Hurtigruten Cruises is one of the most authentic exploration-oriented cruise lines in the industry, delivering dedicated expertise on journeys that will exceed your expectations and provide you an opportunity to encounter environments, wildlife and people at the very ends of the Earth.

Onboard Activities

These sessions are sometimes combined with tastings of seasonal local specialties. Try fresh shrimps in the Lyngenfjord in spring or cloudberries during autumn. In winter they offer freshly cooked fishcakes, while “Trollsoup” is on the menu when we sail into the Trollfjord in summer.

The Expedition Team also get involved with the traditional Arctic Circle crossing rituals. Natural phenomena will get a lot of attention, like the Northern Lights in winter and the Midnight Sun in summer.

Hurtigruten Cruises delivers authentic food experiences by creating seasonal menus that compliment the diverse cultures and landscapes to which they sail. The ships feature locally sourced, fresh ingredients in the onboard restaurants as well as opportunities to take a closer look into the region’s cuisine through onboard storytelling.

For any special dietary restrictions or allergies, Hurtigruten Cruises must be advised at least 90 days prior to sailing. Passengers on strict diets may find that there is a limited choice.

Children are welcome on Hurtigruten cruises, offering the opportunity for the whole family to experience the excitement of exploring some of the world’s most remote and beautiful destinations in a meaningful, enriching way. However, child-friendly facilities and activities are limited.

Note: Hurtigruten ASA cannot accept children under the age of 5 on voyages to Antarctica (there is no age restriction on other destinations).

As your hosts on board, the Expedition Teams arrange optional lectures. They are specialists on a variety of topics, including natural phenomena like the Northern Lights, botany, wildlife, glaciology, fishing traditions, viking history and local lore. The Expedition Team also deliver guiding at special points of interest out on deck along the sailing route.
Onboard Canon-certified photographers, the Expedition Team offer expert tips and tricks to capture important moments.
